The killer Enziu River Bridge is five kilometers from the home of Defence CS Monica Juma. It is the route and river bridge she uses to access her palatial Nuu Home, a few kilometers from Nuu Town.
The defense CS however prefers to fly home, due to her demanding schedule. Her relatives, including her father, a retired Army officer use the route to Mwingi, the headquarters of Kitui East and Kitui North.
Juma is a household name in Nuu and Kitui, where she is born and raised. Pressure will now mount on the Government to tarmac the road and construct a permanent bridge on the 800 metre river bed.
