Kirinyaga County police are investigating a case in which a woman was brutally killed, and her eyes were gouged out in Piai village in Kirinyaga.
According to eyewitnesses, the unknown perpetrators cuffed one hand of the dead, whose body had been burned with corrosive chemicals.
Neighbors described how the woman went missing, causing her family to conduct an extensive search.
But they were stunned to discover on Thursday morning that she had been slain and left in an abandoned home near a cemetery in Embu Countryside.
“We want to know what motivated the horrific conduct,” stated a resident, Boniface Mwangi.
A member of the Nyumba Kumi Initiative, Ms Nancy Wambui grieved that the woman had been slain in a very horrible manner.
“I was at home when I learned that a woman had been discovered dead. I rushed to the scene and was astounded to see the woman’s body, which had been brutally mutilated, lying lifeless “Ms Wambui stated.
The locals demanded that the murderers be arrested and brought to justice.
“The killers behaved like monsters, and they should be identified and punished in accordance with the rule of law,” stated Musa Maina.
They lamented the increase in incidences of insecurity in the neighborhood and requested police to intensify night patrols.
