Kirinyaga: Four Injured As Police Vehicle Plunges Into River

Four people were injured, including two police officers, when a police vehicle plunged into the Rupingazi River in Kirinyaga County on Sunday morning.

The Administration Police (AP) vehicle plunged into the river along the Mwea-Embu highway.

According to Mwea-East police commander Daniel Kitavi, the vehicle was on its way from Nyeri to the Kanyonyo AP training centre in Kitui.

Kitavi stated that the driver of the police vehicle was attempting to avoid colliding with a boda boda operator who had developed mechanical problems along the Rupingazi bridge.

Kitavi stated that traffic officers from Wang’uru police station responded immediately, and that the officers and boda boda operator were rushed to Embu Level Five Hospital after suffering injuries.
