The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has arrested two Chinese contractors on Mamboleo-Miwani Road.
According to NEMA, Lee Lijingany, Project Officer, and Emmanuel Adede, construction environmentalist, were nabbed for failure to comply with licensing conditions.
“The duo are held up at Kisumu central police station and will be arraigned in court for failure to comply with restoration orders to rehabilitate borrow pits, thus endangering the residents and homesteads within the sites,” NEMA said in a statement.
