Kisumu West subcounty police have launched a manhunt for two alleged thieves who eluded a police dragnet last night.
Kisumu County Commissioner Josephine Ouko says officers on patrol early this morning in the Kogony area observed two suspicious guys on a motorcycle about 5 a.m.
She claims the pair were stopped but instead displayed the toy pistol at the authorities, forcing them to fire in the air.
The motorcycle they were riding lost control and crashed into a ditch, forcing the two to flee into the Obunga slums with minor injuries.
She claims the pair dropped the toy pistol, and police were able to retrieve other items such as a TV set, gas cylinder, crowbar, Kplc tokens, door Matt, and other suspected stolen household goods.
A Honda motorcycle registration number KMFZ 321H in red color was also seized.
