A police constable has died under mysterious circumstances at the police quarters in Kisumu central sub-county as he awaited relocation to a rehabilitation center.
The body of the officer based at the Kisumu central police station was found lying half naked in his house.
He was expected to be escorted to Vigilance Directorate of chaplaincy and counseling for further treatment and rehabilitation.
According to police, Kisumu county police counselor had gone to pick up the officer in the morning for the journey when they were greeted with a rude shock.
On their arrival, they knocked on the door of his house with no response forcing them to break the door to gain entry.
The deceased had a bandage on the back of his head and some blood oozing from his lips.
The scene was visited by senior officers and the crime scene personnel who processed the scene as investigations proceeded to establish the actual cause of his death.
