On Monday, April 24, a woman arrested in Kitengela, Kajiado County, for fatally stabbing her 2-year-old daughter confessed to the crime and explained her motivation. 

A video circulated online showed the lady stabbing the young girl repeatedly while reciting the alphabet.

According to reports, the 24-year-old woman’s parents were not present when the crime was committed. 

Neighbours who witnessed the woman killing her daughter claimed she was mentally unstable.

The woman later claimed that her breakup with the child’s father had an impact on her. 

“I do not love myself and that is the reason why I decided to take the life of my daughter,” the lady said.

The lady admitted to the press that she attacked her baby because she hated herself and had suffered greatly with her child. 

They couldn’t get in, so they had to watch helplessly from the window as the lady stabbed the little child.

Nonetheless, they called the police and reported the incident, hoping for their intervention. 

The lady was rushed to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital after she collapsed, with reports indicating that she was overcome with guilt.
