A free medical camp organized by the M-Pesa Foundation in partnership with Zuri Health set to be held at Kitui County has been cancelled.
In a notice seen by Uzalendo News, the medical camp was set to be held on Saturday, 8th February 2025, at Kitui Stadium.
According to the notice, the medical camp was to provide a number of services, such as general doctor consultations, eye care consultations, breast and cervical cancer screening, fistula screening, diabetes screening, hypertension monitoring, and elderly and child health consultations.
An anonymous source claims that the medical camp was cancelled due to unavailability of county workers who were supposed to work alongside the highly skilled healthcare workers provided by the organisers.
The foundation which partners with Kenyan communities, organizations and institutions to improve and transform lives, has over the years held medical camps countrywide.
The medical camps stand to positively impact the lives of local communities that have few or no medical facilities or face the challenge of access to healthcare.
Since its launch in May last year, over 30,000 people have benefitted from the free medical services in Lamu, Nairobi, Machakos, Trans Nzoia, Narok, Meru, Kakamega, Kisumu, Nyandarua and Mombasa counties.
