KPA To Battle Rwanda Energy In FIBA Africa Zone Five Opener

Kenyan Ports Authority will face Rwanda Energy Group in their first FIBA Africa Zone Five women’s club championship match this afternoon at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

The other Kenyan team in the eight-day championships, Equity Bank Hawks, will take the court on Sunday against Vijana Queens of Tanzania.

In the absence of the Egyptians, the Kenyan giants, who are in Group ‘B’ alongside REG, Jeshi la Kujenga Taifa (JKT) Stars of Tanzania, Nile Legends of South Sudan, and JKL Dolphins of Uganda, remain favorites.

The bankers are in Group ‘A’ which also has Armée Patriotique Rwandaise (APR) of Rwanda and Gladiators of Burundi.

KPA lost 78-68 to Alexandria Sporting of Egypt in a hard-fought final played in the Tanzanian port city of Dar es Salaam last October.
