Laikipia Bandits Shoot Police Officer

A police officer was shot and seriously wounded in a clash with suspected bandits in the Kirima area, Laikipia County.

The inspector of police was shot and injured in three fingers by the gunmen who were driving away stolen animals.

The gang escaped as the injured officer was taken to the Olmoran Health center for first aid and later referred to Nakuru.

The area has been troubled in the past months with dozens of security officials being killed and others injured in clashes with bandits.

It is currently classified as a security zone.
