Lawyer Ahmednassir Says Kenya Suffers From Poor Rule Of Law

he urged Kenyans, including the opposition, to allow the government to function, and that if he fails to deliver, they will be allowed to criticize him in 2027.

Ahmednassir Abdullahi has advised President William Ruto on what he should do before leading Kenya into an economic revival.

The senior counsel stated on Saturday that governance should come first, before anything else.

“The problem in Kenya is not the economy. Kenya’s issue is one of rule of law. “It’s a false narrative that informs our current conversation about how to jump-start our economy,” Ahmednassir said.

The senior counsel suggests that the President address the governance and rule of law deficits before we can enjoy economic recovery.

Ruto has stated repeatedly that the Kenya Kwanza administration inherited a shattered economy from the Jubilee regime and that they require time to grow and raise funds in order to fulfill their manifesto.

However, he urged Kenyans, including the opposition, to allow the government to function, and that if he fails to deliver, they will be allowed to criticize him in 2027.

Increased economic hardship is President William Ruto’s administration’s biggest failure according to a poll by research firm Tifa released in March 2023.

According to the poll, 41 percent of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance supporters think that economic hardship is Ruto’s biggest failure.

Former United Democratic Alliance vice chairman Kipruto Kirwa also noted that Kenya’s economy is in dire need of resuscitation.

Kirwa said President William Ruto should put in more work in reviving the country’s economy.
