Two governor hopefuls in Kilifi County have downplayed Governor Amason Kingi s Pamoja Alliance(PAA), saying the political outfit is meant to help Kingi’s leadership to continue at the County.

Speaker Jimmy Kahindi and Gideon Mungaro who are all vying in an ODM ticket said that after he failed to steer development records in Kilifi, ended in forming his PAA party at the expense of the locals.

The two will battle for the ODM nominations for the top county seat.

“I am the speaker of the County assembly and we tried in our role to make sure that the county gets into development gear but the executive under the leadership of Governor Kingi failed us big time. Again we thought even after this he would peaceful retire but instead brought up PAA to continue under development of this county. We need a new lease of life for the Kilifi leadership,”Mr Kahindi said.

Mr Mungaro who lost to Kingi in the 2017 General Election said that his stand that all those who took public money shall be arrested and charged in court.

“I have said this more often that whoever took part in the corruption scandals at the county shall be taken to court once I become the Governor of this county,” said Mr Mungaro. The two leaders spoke at Ngerenya village during a meeting organized by the Chonyi Council of Elders.
