Liam Rosenior appeared to bid farewell to Strasbourg amid reports that he is expected to take over as Chelsea head coach.
“It’s a very beautiful city, with very beautiful people, a great club,” Rosenior said after Strasbourg’s 1-1 draw with Nice on Saturday.
“I loved everything. The players were incredible. I really want the best for this club. I don’t know if this is my last match. In life, you never know.”
At the same time, the 41-year-old was at pains to clarify that there is no agreement for him to join Chelsea yet: “There’s nothing concrete in these discussions. They’re just discussions. What will be, will be.
“Strasbourg is a fantastic club with fantastic people. I loved everything about it. I adored all the players. And the fans and everyone here.”
Rosenior has emerged early as a leading contender for the Chelsea job after Enzo Maresca parted with the club on Thursday.
