List Of Leaders Who Traveled With President Ruto To US

President William Ruto on Monday evening, May 20, arrived in the United States of America for his three-day state visit.

Accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto, the Head of State was welcomed by the US Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, among other US dignitaries.

In the the president’s entourage to the US were Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defence CS Aden Duale, Health CS Susan Nakhumicha, Trade’s Rebecca Miano and Council of Governors Chair Anne Waiguru.

Other leaders who accompanied President Ruto were Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, her Machakos counterpart Wavinya Ndeti, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

From the private sector, there were; Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa, Wandia Gichuru, the founder of Vivo Fashion Group, and Chebet Mutai of Wazawazi.

Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Chief Executive Officer and Director-General Elijah Songok was also present.

The tour will run from Monday to Friday with discussions expected to include trade ties, security, debt relief, and job opportunities among others.

“I welcome President Ruto’s engagements in Atlanta, I thank the City of Atlanta for their hospitality, and look forward to seeing the Kenyan President at the May 23 State Dinner,” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
