Majengo Family Mourns 13 Yearold Victim Of Serial Child-Killer

Masten Wanjala

A family in Nairobi’s Majengo neighborhood is mourning the death of their 13-year-old son, whom serial killer Masten Wanjala is accused of murdering.

The family acknowledged the remains of Charles Opindo, who had been at the City Mortuary, after two days of denial.

Opindo’s parents described their ordeal at the hands of a ransom seeker, who kept Opindo’s father busy on the phone in the hopes of reuniting them with their son.

They may have given over 2,800 shillings to a criminal long after their kid died, according to the evidence. This is where Charles Opindo’s parents live.

When Opindo’s parents went to see the two bodies that had been brought to City Mortuary, they didn’t think what they saw was anything like their son.

They hoped their son was still alive because they had collaborated with the ransom-seeking to some extent. Tony Opindo, the deceased’s father, said, “Nikawaambia msiue mtoto.”

On July 3rd, the ransom searchers began speaking with Opindo’s father. Tony sent another 1,950 shillings two days later, appealing for his son’s release.

Tony acknowledges that he has known Wanjala for a long time. On his Facebook, he has various photos of himself with young footballers and trainers on brighter days.

“Alikujanga hapa akiwa mdogo kama street families. Alikuja kaka na mama hapa anamchotea maji,” Ibrahim Kilonzo – Chair, Residents Association said.

Opindo’s parents were so broken with the tough task to plan a burial for their firstborn son in Khwisero, Kakamega county.
