BY FAITH MUTETE – Mr. Salim Mwamburi, a resident of Mwingoni village in Voi, Taita Taveta County was arraigned in court after allegedly biting his four-month-old son’s genitals on 13 October.
According to his wife who reported him, the man went for a walk with his son and later on insisted on giving him a bath, during which he assaulted the baby. He bit the child on the penis, right leg and rib.
The following day as his wife was going to church she saw markings on her son’s body and reported her husband.
The baby, has since been taken to hospital for his injuries to be taken care of.
Mr. Salim, who was arraigned in court on Wednesday, denied the allegations before Voi Senior Resident Magistrate Frederick Nyakundi.
He was released on a cash bail of Ksh.20,000 or Ksh.50,000 bond. His case is to be mentioned on October 30.
