Aisha Jumwa and her bodyguard released, To report to DCI to assist investigations

Controversial Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was released on a Ksh. 500,000 cash bail as police continue with investigations on the murder of an ODM supporter.

Aisha and her bodyguard appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Adet who dismissed the Prosecution’s application to detain the two.

“The police shall have the liberty to charge the respondents with a disclosed offense if they have evidence. If a decision has been reached by the applicant to charge the respondents, they should present themselves in court to take plea.” said the margistrate.

The two have been directed to present themselves at the Malindi Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices on October 22 to aid investigations.

The Malindi Legislator had found herself in the middle of the scuffle after disrupting a meeting at the Ganda aspirant’s home by ODM ‘agents’ which she accused the party of holding a rally after closure of the campaign period.

During a press briefing shortly after the incident, she claimed that the death of the Malindi resident should be on ODM, for holding an unlawful rally.
