Residents of the Ulanda district of Awendo, Migori County, are mourning the death of a middle-aged man who was electrocuted to death.
Confirming the event, Awendo sub-county police chief Mathias Pombo stated that the deceased had just dropped off his daughter at a local secondary school and was returning home when he was electrocuted.
According to Pombo, an electrical pole on the power line with wires carrying live current collapsed, and the dead came into touch with the live wire, dying on the scene.
He stated that efforts to revive him were useless.
According to the sub-county police chief, the deceased’s body has been transported to the mortuary for further investigations.
Pombo appealed to the general public and the deceased’s relatives to allow police to conduct investigations.
