Man Faces Jail-term For Fake Snake Venom Tender

A Herbalist has been charged in Court for conning people using fake snake venom tender.

Nicholas Ndunda Kilungya from Machakos County who claimed to be a physician found himself on the Wrong side of the Law after he was reported to have scammed unsuspecting Victim Ksh 1.7M pretending to have won a tender of supplying snake venom in South Sudan.

According to the charge sheet, the suspect on diverse dates between February 5th and March 1st, within Nairobi, he conspired with other suspects to defraud Felix Munyao Kikanga a Sum of Ksh 1,731,800 by falsely pretending he had a tender for supplying anti snake venom for export to South Sudan.

According to the prosecution, the suspect is a member of a syndicate based in Ukambani which has specialized in conning people pretending to be able to supply anti snake venom to various parts of the World.

Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, the suspect denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 300,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000.
