A young man found engaging in an unnatural act with a sheep was thrashed mercilessly by enraged members of the public before being handed over to Siaya police.
Stephen Owino, 24, was rescued from lynching by an assistant chief who rushed to the scene after receiving information from a villager.
Mulaha sublocation assistant chief Marcellus Murunga confirmed the incident, saying it happened on the outskirts of Siaya town in Ombwede village.
Murunga stated that the sheep owner was drawn to the pen by commotion and bleating from the sheep, and when he went to investigate, he was perplexed to discover the stark naked suspect in the act.
“He raised an alarm, and villagers quickly responded and pursued the man,” said the assistant chief, who added that the suspect, who is from Masumbi sublocation, has rented a house in Ombwede.
Murunga stated that the suspect had previously been arrested and arraigned in court for the same offense.
According to the assistant chief, the man was taken to the Siaya police station and arraigned in court.
