Manchester United are preparing to complete the signing of Ajax star Antony, with the Brazilian winger eager to reunite with former coach Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford. United is expected to make a formal offer in the coming weeks.
Antony joined Ajax in 2020 for a fee of £18 million, and the Brazilian has since established himself as one of the best players for the Dutch club.
In total, the Brazil international has made 78 appearances for Eredivise, scoring 22 goals and registering 20 assists.
Antony had a fruitful relationship with former Ajax manager and current United manager Erik ten Hag, with whom he won two Eredivisie titles and a Dutch Cup during their time at the club.
According to GOAL, the Brazilian is eager to reunite with Ten Hag as he looks to complete a move to Old Trafford ahead of the upcoming season.
United have yet to make a formal offer, but initial discussions with the players’ camp have convinced them that a potential deal will be made in the coming weeks.
It is expected that the Red Devils will have to offer around £60 million to persuade Ajax to sanction the sale.
