Man who supplied Fake gold denies charges, granted a Ksh. 100,000 bail

Festus Chegoro is accused of obtaining Ksh.306,820 by falsely pretending that he would supply genuine gold

BY PRUDENCE WANZA – A man has been charged with obtaining money by false pretences in a Ksh. 300,000 gold scam.

Festus Chegoro is accused of obtaining Ksh.306,820 by falsely pretending that he would supply one Hillary Langat with genuine gold.

He is alleged to have committed the offence on 20th February 2019 with others who were not before the court in Nairobi.

Chegoro denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku at the Milimani law courts.

He was released on a bond of Ksh.100,000 or an alternative cash bail of Ksh. 100,000.

The case will be mentioned on 9th October for consolidation with a similar case before the court and the hearing has been set on 11th October 2019.
