Martha Karua, Azimio’s presidential running mate, attended the inauguration of Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga.
The event took plac at Homa Bay Stadium on Thursday.
Wanga was declared the winner after garnering 244,559 votes, defeating her closest opponent Evans Kidero, who received 154,182 votes.
She will succeed Cyprian Awiti as the first female governor of Homa Bay.
Wanga was elected as the county’s Woman Representative in 2017 and has represented the county for one term.
The governor ran on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) platform.
