DCI Blocked From Accessing Matiang’i CCTV

The clip in question is from February 8 at 2000 hours and February 9 at 0300 hours when Matiang'i alleges to have been raided.

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been dealt a severe setback after the court refused to grant access CCTV footage of Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s Karen home.

Milimani Magistrate Wandia Nyamu declined to issue the access orders, instead directing the DCI to serve his private security firm.

” This court will not allow the application by the DCI dated February 15,2023. However, i will direct the DCI to serve Bob Morgan Security Limited with the application instead.” said the Magistrate.

The development comes after the DCI was given orders last week to access and obtain footage from Karen Ngong view, where Matiang’i’s residence is located.

The tape in Amsec security services limited’s possession includes events that occur in the region, including security barrier points.

The clip in question is from February 8 at 2000 hours and February 9 at 0300 hours when Matiang’i alleges to have been raided.

After being permitted access to Amsec’s surveillance footage, the detective discovered that it did not include Matiang’i’s house complex.

As a result, the DCI decided to return to court on Wednesday morning with a new application seeking footage linked to the events at the residential complex.
