Maxine Wahome Out Of WRC Over Murder Investigations

Maxine Wahome’s fast fall to grass has taken another harsh turn after she was dropped from the World Rally Championship.

Wahome is presently dealing with judicial processes following her formal allegation of murdering her lover, Assad Khan.

Wahome has now been removed from Safari Rally. She has also been dropped from the Young Rally Stars competition.

Wahome made history last year when she became the first woman to win a Safari Rally round.

She finished first in the WRC third-tier class in 25 minutes and 27 seconds.

In June, she finished 16th overall in the four-day race won by Kalle Rovanpera.

The 26-year-old led Toyota Gazoo to a 1-2-3 finish, his fourth victory in six races this season.

Wahome’s troubles began when she was accused of physically assaulting her rally driver boyfriend, Khan. Khan died shortly as a result of his injuries, and the charge sheet was changed from assault to murder.

The Director of Public Prosecutions affirmed their intention to prosecute Wahome with murder, and the court ordered her detention for one week until March 15, when she is expected to enter a plea.
