Meet Mama Ngina: Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Begs Ruto

Mama Ngina, Uhuru Kenyatta's mother, played an important role in Ruto's political journey, according to the MYWO chair.

Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) chairperson Rahab Muiu has urged President-elect William Ruto to make peace with the Kenyatta family following the contentious presidential election.

In a press conference on Tuesday, September 6, Muiu requested that Ruto pay a visit to the nation’s founding mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, and work out any outstanding issues.

“It is my prayer today that you start by embracing the first family. I ask you sir, with a lot of humility, to visit Mama Ngina Kenyatta and make peace with her,” Muiu pleaded.

The organization also congratulated the president-elect on his supreme court victory and urged him to embrace unity and work with all leaders.

Muiu stated that the Kenyatta family holds a significant place in Kenyan history that cannot be easily erased.

“We shall not get blessings when we throw away the journey of our lives, we shall get blessings when we go back to those who started us, where Kenya started. This country started with the founding father, and that is history we cannot do anything about,” she said.
