Police in Migori County began a manhunt for a robbery suspect who escaped an early morning raid at his home in Isibania on Saturday.
The raid, carried out by detectives from specialized units of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), resulted in the recovery of a firearm and ammunition.
Among the items recovered by the sleuths were a Czeska pistol with two magazines, 58 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition, and a sharp dagger.
The suspect, since identified as Peter Matinde Wandwi, narrowly escaped the raid but detectives are presently on his trail; he is wanted over a string of violent robberies in the area.
“Two persons of interest were also arrested in the operation and are aiding the detectives with further investigations,” the DCI said in a statement.
