The ruling Jubilee party upheld a report directing the dismissal of 7 nominated senators on grounds of gross disciplinary violations. – By Gerald Gekara
According to a statement sent to newsrooms, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju said the decision was made by a National Management Committee (NMC).
The meeting that was to discuss the report filed by the Party’s displinary committee recommended the expulsion on grounds that the six had violated the party’s mandate by snubbing an invitation to the State House by Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta.
Nominated Senators; Isaac Mwaura, Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Omanga Millicent, Prengei Victor, Iman Dekow and Gona Christine Zawadi have been directed to appeal the decision if they so wish.
“The expulsions are with immediate effect and have been communicated to the Senate and the registrar of political parties. The affected senators are at liberty to appeal.” Tuju said.
