A man has been charged at Milimani Law courts with stealing Sh 7.3m by servant.
Humphrey Mulindi Mathana appeared before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina and denied the charges.
The court was informed that on diverse dates between February 6, 2022 and February 11, 2022 at Ola petrol station in Westlands within Nairobi County, being an agent of Issadin Gabane Mohammed, stole USD 59,811 the property of the said Issadin Gabane Mohammed.
The complainant in the case said all issues pertaining to the matter were laid before the Investigation Officer.
They said they sought intervention, the file was subsequently reviewed, and the charges were preferred.
The complainant said he cannot be coerced to receive an amount less than what the agent received from him.
He added that he will only accept the stolen amount and nothing less.
Through Lawyer Denis Seko, the accused pleaded with the court to be released on reasonable bond terms.
He said that the accused is not a flight risk and will cooperate with the prosecution.
Magistrate Lucas in his ruling said that he has considered the application by the defence counsel and the fact that the prosecution has not objected to bail.
He was released on a Sh 1M bond and an alternative cash bail of Sh Cash 1M. The matter will be mentioned on March 27/2023.
