Kenyans have been invited to support and participate in the ‘Mimi Mkenya’ program, which aims to foster peace and national solidarity.
The project, which was launched on Wednesday with the goal of encouraging Kenyans to come together and pay attention to national values and personal conduct norms, is a step that will enable people accept each other regardless of tribe or color.
Nadia Abdalla, Chief Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of ICT, Innovation, and Youth Affairs, said at the launch that the initiative allows Kenyans to come together to reflect on what they have done with their hard-earned freedom.
“I envision a Kenya in which we are not just proud of our different traditions and cultures, but also unify over our one aspiration as Kenyans,” Nadia remarked.
The CAS emphasized that without unity, the country will neither advance or stand, and asked all Kenyans to embrace the virtues of patriotism and selflessness during the election campaign, and to peacefully elect credible and capable leaders.
She also praised the youth for their tremendous desire in participating in the next general elections as both voters and candidates.
According to Nadia, their interest in elective seats demonstrates that young people want to be decision-makers and contribute to future progress and prosperity.
