Missing Blogger’s Brother Dies By Suicide

The family of missing blogger Bogonko Bosire says his younger brother has died by suicide. 

Joshua Mangwari Bosire, 37, took his own life on January 10 after battling depression for a while, the family confirmed. 

The deceased’s sister Winfred Nyang’anyi Bosire said Joshua took poison after threatening to take his own life for a while.

“Joshua was depressed and was battling alcoholism which came as a result of Bogonko’s mysterious disappearance,” said Winfred.

He then moved back home to help take care of their ailing father after Bogonko’s disappearance. 

The older Bogonko is said to have slipped into depression and is now schizophrenic after searching for Bogonko in vain. Bogonko’s mum is hypertensive. The family has been searching for Bogonko in vain. 

Bogonko has been missing for close to nine years, with several conspiracy theories being coined to explain his disappearance. 

He was one of those turned blogger in the wake of the 2013 general elections, and played a key role in President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto’s online campaigns.

Bogonko’s disappearance coincided with the September 2013 West Gate terror attack.
