Mombasa: Boyfriend Wanted Over Son’s Death

Police in Mombasa are probing the death of a two-year-old boy who was reportedly murdered by his mother’s boyfriend.

According to the minor’s father, Jamal Ngala, the deceased, named as Mbarak Jamal, is thought to have died on his way to the hospital after being assaulted by his mother’s lover.

Jamal died as a result of his injuries while being taken to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kilifi are in pursuit of the boda boda rider who is implicated in the minor’s death.

According to police, the suspect, who is still at large, committed the aforementioned crime following a fight with the child’s mother, who was also his girlfriend.

The two had been residing in a leased house on the outskirts of Mtwapa town in the Mtomondoni region.

The mother is alleged to have divorced her husband and been living with the rider, who is accused of abusing the boy.
