Seven Foreigners Jailed For Trafficking Ksh 1.3 Billion Heroin

Mombasa Law Courts sentenced seven (7) foreigners to life in jail for heroin trafficking worth Ksh 1.3 billion.

In addition, each of the convicts was fined Ksh 3.96 billion and sentenced to one year in prison.

Hon. Martha Mutuku, Chief Magistrate, penalized them three times the value of the heroin.

After presenting 34 witnesses in the trial, the prosecution, led by SADPP Alexander Muteti and SPC Peris Bosibori, proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Hon. Mutuku stated in her ruling that she weighed the following factors: the significant impact of heroin on the country, particularly on the youth; the amount and value of heroin; and the global aspect of the crime.

” After analyzing the evidence tabled by the prosecution before this court, I am satisfied that the prosecution proved their case beyond any reasonable doubt.” ruled the magistrate.

In the case, Six Pakistanis and one Iranian were found guilty: Mohamed Saleh, Yakoob Ibrahim, Saleem Muhammad, Bhatti Abdulghafour, Baksh Moula, and Pak Abdolghaffer. The court heard that they intentionally participated in unlawful trade, putting future generations at risk.
