A Mombasa family is shattered after a domestic altercation turned deadly early Friday morning. Diana Yumbya, 25, lost her life after her father allegedly stabbed her in the chest during an argument over a solar-powered lamp.
According to reports, the Changamwe neighbourhood experienced a power outage, sparking a fight between Yumbya’s parents.
Witnesses claim the argument escalated quickly, with the father grabbing a kitchen knife and fatally wounding his daughter, who was trying to stop him from harming her mother.
Alarmed by the commotion, neighbours rushed Yumbya to Bomu Hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police secured the scene and processed Yumbya’s body, which bore a clear stab wound. An autopsy is pending.
Authorities are currently searching for the father, who remains at large.
