BY LYNN KYALO – Agnes Kaindi a mother of two has today been arraigned in Kibera Law Courts today and charged with cruelty to a child aged 11 years.
The complainant, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka who happens to be the son of the accused is said to have been in church with his mother when he felt hungry and took money from his mothers bag to buy mandazi and soda.
Having been left with Ksh 200 as the change he gave it to his brother.On getting home the accused asked where is the money and the complainant answered what happened. The accused got angry and decided to punish the boy.
The accused took a polythene paper, burnt it and poured the burning matter on the child causing bodily assault on the head, chest and hands of the said kid.
The following day as the complinant was coming from school a good samaritan showed concern and took the matter to Kilimani Police station after being taken to Shetko community centre for treatment.
The accused was then arrested by officers from the said police station and has today been charged in court where she pleaded guilty before Kibera principal magistrate Hon.Easther Boke.
She was denied bond or bail. Case will be mentioned on 25th july and heard on 1st september 2019
