Registrar Rejects KUP-Ruto Alliance

The Registrar of Political Parties dealt the Kenya Kwanza a major setback when it granted Pokot South MP David Pkosing permission to continue serving on the bipartisan talks team.

The Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu stated in a letter to the National Assembly leader of the Minority Party Opiyo Wandayi that the Kenya Union Party is not a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition.

President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza camp had expressed concern that Pkosing should not be included in the dialogue team to represent the Azimio camp, claiming that he is on the government side.

However, the letter dated April 25 has jolted Kenya Kwanza with Pkosing, who is a member of the Kenya Union Party, set to sit in for Azimio in the bipartisan team.

”The office has no official record of any coalition agreement between the Kenya Union Party and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance,” the letter reads in part.

Wandayi had written to the registrar of parties inquiring if the Kenya Union Party has a coalition agreement with Kenya Kwanza.
