MP Osoro Of South Mugirango Surrenders to DCI over By-election chaos

By John Mutiso

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro on Monday morning presented himself to detectives at the Kisii Police Station. He, however, said he only came to “check up on his vehicles” that were impounded during the Kiamokama by-elections last Thursday.

“That is what purposely brought me here,” said Osoro moments before checking into the CID office at Kisii Central Police Station.

Osoro availed himself at the Kisii Divisional Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters after being on the run since Thursday when he was wanted over the Kiamokama by-election chaos. This came after his NG-CDF manager and driver were arrested and freed.

The MP arrived in the company of his lawyers Alice Wahome, Gladys Shollei and Wilkins Ochoki.

Regarding whether he owns a gun, Osoro said he is not licensed hence he does not have one and is not aware if he would be grilled on the issue.

“I don’t have a gun, I have not been licensed to hold one and so I have heard it from you,” Osoro said.
