MrBeast Takes the Crown: YouTube’s New King with 266 Million Subscribers!

Move over, T-Series! YouTube has a new most-subscribed channel, and it belongs to none other than the outlandish and generous MrBeast!

On June 2nd, 26-year-old James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, officially dethroned the Indian music label with a staggering subscriber count of 266 million.

This accomplishment marks the culmination of a years-long journey for MrBeast, who has captivated audiences with his wild stunts, massive giveaways, and innovative content.

The news sent shockwaves through the online world, with MrBeast himself taking to social media to celebrate. In a playful nod to the historic subscriber battle between PewDiePie and T-Series in 2018, MrBeast tweeted, “After 6 years we have finally avenged PewDiePie.”

However, MrBeast is also conscious of the potential for this achievement to reignite nationalistic tensions. During a recent interview, he expressed his desire to avoid turning this into a “country versus country” debate.

“I just want to be the most subscribed-to channel,” he clarified. “Yes, I have a lot of people helping me, but at the end of the day, I started this channel. I live and breathe this. I am a creator.”

MrBeast further emphasized the significance of a creator holding the top spot. “I do think it’s nice, a bit of symbolism that a creator is the most subscribed-to channel,” he remarked.

“Not knocking [T-Series], but they are a corporation with probably a thousand times more employees than me.”
