The Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday met representatives of Ridehail Transport Association who are stakeholders in the digital taxi riding platforms.
According to Murkomen, the discussions were centered on issues related to physical office, commissions paid to transport network company, data protection, revenue sharing formulae, deactivation policy, pricing mechanism and licensing of network companies.
“We are determined to complete the Parliamentary process of approving the 2022 Regulations to ensure that vehicle owners and drivers are protected from exploitation,” he noted.
Murkomen added that they are keen to ensure that network companies pay their fair share of taxes to KRA.
