Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, met with leaders from Western Kenya for a consultative meeting to discuss the region’s political and economic growth.
Mudavadi, who is also the ANC Party leader, stated that the meeting in Matayos, Busia County, brought together the political leadership, elders, and people of the large Western Kenyan region, where they resolved to foster peace and unity.
“The political leadership, elders, and people of the larger Western Kenya Region have resolved to walk together as a region and foster peace and unity as a key milestone toward achieving political stability and economic growth,” Mudavadi said.
During the consultative stakeholders meeting, the ANC Party leader stated that they ushered in a new chapter that will focus on three key agenda items: growth, equity, and sustainability.
“We will take stock of our collective resources, tap into areas of economic prosperity, and look at new frontiers that will open avenues for job creation, agricultural and industrial revolutions, businesses, better healthcare, security, and quality education for the betterment of this region,” the Prime Minister said.
Mudavadi was also crowned as a member of the Western Kenya region’s Executive Council, in a ceremony held at the home of the chairman of the Western region elder’s council, Mzee Philip Masinde.
