Wa Iria Threatens To File Missing Report On Chebukati

Mwangi wa Iria, the leader of the Usawa Kwa Wote party and a presidential candidate, has threatened to record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for his disagreement with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

On Tuesday, Wa Iria was scheduled to meet with IEBC returning officer Wafula Chebukati to discuss the dispute he filed after his name was omitted from the Presidential Nomination Register.

“Where did Chebukati go? He does not want to meet one of his candidates and he met all the others, what is wrong between me and him. I’m now going to record to DCI that my returning officer is missing,” Wa Iria protested.

“Nikienda Bomas simpati nikikuja hapa simpati. On Sunday I spent the whole in Bomas up to 11pm, he was there and he ducked me. Yesterday they locked me out.”

He stated that he will now proceed to the DCI because Chebukati had not yet consented to attend the meeting.

Wa Iria and his group have promised to set up camp on the property until their demands are granted.

On Monday, the situation was exactly the same after Wa Iria made headlines once more after being denied entry into Kenya’s Bomas.
