Security personnel in Mwea town, Kirinyaga County, have detained a 46-year-old man for allegedly killing his lover.
Simon Maina, the suspect, is accused of strangling his partner Jackline Irungu in her home on Tuesday night, May 24.
After allegedly executing the heinous deed, the suspect is said to have summoned his neighbours and shown them what had occurred before fleeing the murder site.
At roughly 10:10 p.m., security agents in the same town apprehended the culprit.
He is currently being held in police custody at the Wanguru Police Station, pending extradition to court.
