Nairobi County Government accountant sentenced to 7 years imprisonment, here is why

A Nairobi County Government accountant III rate section has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment by Nairobi Court.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo in Milimani Law Courts, Dennis Paul Manoti was found guilty of all the three counts he was charged with. On December 7, 2016, the suspect appeared before the Magistrate and pleaded not guilty of the charges.


According to the charge sheet, on November 28, 2016, Manoti acquired Ksh. 6,000,000 from Ramesh Chadra Govin as an inducement so as to facilitate the transfer of changes on LR number 20273 from Sigma Limited to Taj Mall Limited.


The accused was based at the City Hall. On the same dates, Manoti was also alleged to have lured Mr. Ramesh and gave him Ksh. 500,000 so as to facilitate the transfer of the same changes.


Manoti further faced a similar charge. It was said that on November 29, 2016, Ankara Hotel in Nairobi, he obtained Ksh. 100, 000 from Peter Kebeso so as to facilitate the transfer of the same changes.


“The prosecution has proved its case beyond any reasonable doubt and therefore this court finds you guilty of counts I, II, and III. You are hereby sentenced to seven years imprisonment with an alternative fine of Ksh. 1,500,000” Kombo ruled.
