Nairobi Expressway contractor complies with NEMA rules

The Nairobi Express Way contractor has complied with a National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) directive and published compliance writs as ordered.


The China Road and Bridge Corporation(CBRC) has published a two page notice in the Standard Newspapers as per the NEMA directive.


Further notices will be published in the Business Daily and the Kenya Gazette as ordered.
The same will be aired on all major radios as the projects kicks off in ernest.

The notice is in respect of an Environmental Impact Assesment Study Report for the Nairobi Express Highway.


The project is a Private Public Partnership (PPP) between the China Road and Bridge Corporation(CBRC) and Kenya National Highways Authority.


The project entails constructing an expressway from Mlolongo through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and terminating at James Gichuru Interchange along Waiyaki Way.


The project is designed to ease traffic congestion and reduce man hours between the busy highway and JKIA.
