The Kenya National Highways Authority has been hailed by netizens for innovative solutions in restoring the greenery lost along Mombasa Road.
The Nairobi Expressway is now being flaunted with flowers and grass as deadline nears.
The flowers in the Nairobi Express road are blooming, pleasing to the eyes. With the flowers on both sides of the elevated, the whole stretch is in good mood.
The Manager of the ongoing Floriculture exercise, Ernest Mobe Karamu told Uzalendo News that the seeds are prepared in Lang’ata Barracks, Wilson and Katan construction sites.
The flowers are planted in pipe cubes which are stack together and fitted on the road beams for support.
The main purpose of the Floriculture exercise is to create balance and reduce soil erosion in the area.
Further down Mombasa road, flower pots have been put on the road barriers.
The road is scheduled for completion in March 2022.
