
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has declared a water supply outage from 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 10th, 2022, until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 11th, 2022.
The supply stoppage was caused by a big breach on the raw water pipeline from Mwagu water intake along the Chania river to Ngethu Water Treatment Plant.
According to Nairobi Water, the big leak would compel the Ngethu Water Treatment Plant to shut down totally.
The whole City Centre, the University of Nairobi main campus, the Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the EPZ- Athi River, and districts along Mombasa Road: South B, South C, and their surrounds are among those impacted by the outage.
The whole Industrial Area and Upperhill, as well as the following areas along Juja Road: Mulango Kubwa, Mathare, Eastleigh Airforce Base, Huruma,Kariobangi, Pangani, and Eastleigh, would be impacted.
Kenya Breweries, Kenyatta University, Kahawa Barracks, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Garden Estate, and Thome Estate will also go without water.
Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu, and the neighboring estates will be affected, as will locations along Jogoo road, such as Baba dogo, Dandora, Dandora KCC plant, Umoja 1 & 2, Donholm, Fedha, Tassia, Avenue park, and Nyayo.
During the renovations, supply will be turned off to locations along Kangundo road such as Ruai, Kayole, Komarock estate, and Njiru.
