Nairobi to host 4th African Fintech Forum

Nairobi is set to host the 4th edition of the African Fintech Forum on 15 October 2025, cementing its status as one of the continent’s most vibrant fintech hubs.

Organisers describe the event as a critical convening point for Africa’s fast-evolving financial technology ecosystem, with stakeholders from across the continent expected to attend.

The forum follows three successful iterations—in Kenya, South Africa, and Egypt—that have steadily expanded the event’s influence and reach.

Most recently, the 2nd edition in Johannesburg received backing from South Africa’s Financial Sector Conduct Authority, while the 3rd edition is scheduled for Cairo, Egypt.

This year’s Nairobi forum will bring together a cross-section of industry leaders, innovative startups, investors, regulators, and tech enthusiasts to explore the state and future of fintech on the continent.

The agenda is expected to focus on pressing themes including mobile money, digital lending, blockchain applications, and cross-border payment systems.

Nairobi has earned a reputation as the “Silicon Savannah,” known for its dynamic startup scene and regulatory frameworks that have enabled rapid innovation in mobile payments and financial inclusion.

The city is home to several pioneering fintech firms, with Kenya often cited globally for its leadership in mobile financial services.

Organisers say the Nairobi edition will provide a platform not just for dialogue but for partnerships that can drive tangible progress. By bringing together the continent’s key fintech players, the event aims to foster collaborative solutions to challenges ranging from access to capital to regulatory harmonisation.
