Karanja Mburu, Lakeview Member of the County Assembly of Naivasha, has died in a fatal road accident at Gilgil, along the Nairobi Nakuru Highway.
The vocal MCA is said to have lost control of the vehicle near the Diatomite Center in Gilgil, rolling several times and crashed into a tree, Gilgil Sub-County Commissioner Ndambuki Mutheki said.
His body has since been moved to Gilgil mortuary, with the police launching investigations into what may have caused the accident.
Karanja Mburu, a first time MCA, was a fierce critic of the Nakuru county government. While sending in his condolences, Naivasha Member of Parliament John Mututho mourned the deceased as a youthful leader who had a bright future.
“Karanja kept the county government on its toes and it’s a sad day that we are mourning him when he was at his peak,” he said.
