Suspects in Nakuru Gruesome Killings Arrested

Preliminary investigations revealed that Kibwaro was the ringleader of a criminal gang that has been attacking women and girls in their homes, raping and strangling them before burning their bodies beyond recognition.

The main suspect in the murders of three women that have terrified residents of Nakuru’s Bahati Sub-County has been apprehended.

Evans Michori Kibwaro was smoked out of his hideout in Kisii, tens of miles from the execution site.

According to Nakuru County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO) Anthony Sunguti, the suspected ringleader is assisting police with their investigations in order to bring the other perpetrators to justice.

“Kibwaro was ferried back to Nakuru immediately following his arrest and has shared vital information with the detectives,” the CCIO said.

Sunguti stated that the suspect identified his gang members as Julius Otieno, 27, Josphat Simiyu, 24, Dennis Nmbolo, 25, Isaac Kinyanjui, 18, and Makhoha Wanjala, 25.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Kibwaro was the ringleader of a criminal gang that has been attacking women and girls in their homes, raping and strangling them before burning their bodies beyond recognition.

This week, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i led a high-level security team to Nakuru and declared war on criminals.

The CS vowed to deal ruthlessly with the criminals and asked human rights organizations not to intervene.

Sunguti stated on Friday that a multi-agency security team would sweep the gangs and make Nakuru safe for all.

He warned residents not to let people into their homes who pose as government officials.

“The thugs pose as agents of major service providers such as Kenya Power or Nakuru Water and Sewerage Services Company, and residents should avoid opening their gates for them,” he said.
