Nakuru County Gov’t Issues Alert After Confirmed Rabies Outbreak

He warned residents to keep off from any animals that are unknown to them. Telling them to report any suspicious behavior in animals.

Hon. Leonard Bor CEC Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries in Nakuru County has urged residents to be cautioned of the confirmed outbreak of Rabies.

In a letter, Hon. Leonard Bor said that Nakuru County Government would like to caution members of the public that there is a confirmed outbreak of Rabies in Tachasis village, Kiptagich ward in Kuresoi South Sub County.

He has however stated that to reduce its spread and contain the situation, Nakuru County Government has despatched its officers to the ground to assess and control the case 

“As this goes on, the department of agriculture, livestock and fisheries would like Nakuru residents to be extra vigilant and report any cases for prompt follow-up. Ensure that all meat offered for consumption is slaughtered in the County approved slaughterhouses, duly inspected, stamped, and transported in strict compliance with the ministry’s regulations,” he stated.
